Quick answer: No — you pay from day one. Incogni has no free plan and no trial. What's free is a one-off exposure scan that needs an email and a name. The service starts at $95.88/year for Standard, with a 30-day refund on the first purchase. As of 10/08/2026 I found no public coupon code.
Is Incogni free? The full answer
No. Incogni’s terms say “Access to the Service requires an active subscription,” and the account itself is created at checkout. There’s no free tier that sends removal requests and no trial period.
The one free piece is the Free Exposure Scanner at incogni.com/am-i-exposed. On 10/08/2026 it asked for an email, sent an eight-character code that expires in 15 minutes, then asked for a first and last name. It returned a result in the browser and created no account. The privacy policy says scan results are kept for 15 minutes.
The scanner has a catch. Its verification email says “By entering this code you agree to receive marketing communications from Incogni.” The free scan is also limited to one every 24 hours, per the same email.
What’s in the free scan (and what isn’t)
The table compares the free scanner with the cheapest paid plan, from my run and Incogni’s pricing page on 10/08/2026.
| Feature | Free scanner | Standard ($95.88/year) |
|---|---|---|
| Account and dashboard | No | Yes |
| Shows sites that list you | Yes, one result screen | Yes, per broker in the dashboard |
| Removal requests to brokers | No | 420+ brokers, per the pricing page |
| Repeat requests over time | No | Yes, “recurring removals” |
| Custom removals for other sites | No | No, Unlimited only ($179.88/year) |
| Monthly progress reports | No | Yes |
| What it asks for | Email and name | Name, address, date of birth, phone for U.S. customers |
| How often | Once every 24 hours | Ongoing while subscribed |
Where the free scan ends
The scan ends on its result screen. For my test name it said “Nothing found—let’s keep it that way” with a single button, “Keep my data off.” That button goes straight to the pricing page. There’s nothing to save, export or come back to: the privacy policy says results are kept for 15 minutes.
A “Nothing found” result for a test identity says little. Incogni’s terms call the scanner “for informational purposes only” and say it doesn’t guarantee finding every exposure, because it collects a limited amount of personal information.
What you pay after the free scan
- Standard: $95.88 for the first year, and the checkout printed a $95.88 renewal with “price may change.”
- Month to month: $15.98 for Standard, twice the annual monthly rate.
- Other plans, billed annually: Unlimited $179.88, Family $191.88, Family Unlimited $275.88.
- Sales tax: $0.00 at checkout for New York 10001 and five other states I tried.
- Auto-renew: on by default, with no checkbox at purchase.
Prices verified on 10/08/2026 on Incogni’s site. The full table, renewal terms and cancel steps are on the Incogni pricing and plans page.
Coupons, discounts and extended trials
As of 10/08/2026, I couldn’t find any public coupon or promo code for Incogni. The checkout has a “Have a promo code?” link under the order summary, and Incogni’s help center explains where to type a code. Neither lists a code. I don’t list codes from coupon sites, because I can’t check them without paying.
Three discounts do exist, each with a condition:
- Students: Student Beans showed “55% off annual plan” for Incogni in the U.S. on 10/08/2026. It requires student verification on Student Beans, which I didn’t test.
- Referrals: Incogni’s help center says friends who sign up through a subscriber’s referral link get “a 58% discount on all annual plans and 16% off monthly plans.” Only active subscribers get a link.
- Annual billing: paying yearly halves the monthly rate. Standard is $7.99 a month billed annually against $15.98 month to month.
There’s no extended trial. The closest thing is the 30-day money-back guarantee on the first purchase, one refund per customer, per the terms updated 09/14/2026.
How to try Incogni (short version)
- Run the free scanner if you only want a quick look. It needs an email and a name.
- To start removals, open the pricing page and pick a plan and billing period.
- At checkout, enter your email, country, state and ZIP code, then pay by card, PayPal or Apple Pay.
- In the new account, add your details and sign the authorization form that lets Incogni contact brokers for you.
If you change your mind within 30 days, ask support for the refund. The Incogni review covers what the help center says about the dashboard.

Free alternatives on this site
If you want removals without paying, you can opt out of people-search sites yourself. Our Whitepages opt-out steps and Spokeo opt-out guide cover two sites Incogni also handles. For a free plan that shows your exposures before you pay, see the Optery review. All paid services side by side are on the best data removal services page.
Is the free scan worth starting with?
Only as a quick look. The scanner doesn’t remove anything, keeps nothing after 15 minutes and signs your email up for marketing. If you already know you’re on people-search sites, the real test is the paid plan with its 30-day refund window. Standard at $95.88/year is the cheapest way in, and a student or referral discount is the only lower price I could confirm.
