Prices verified on 10/08/2026 on DeleteMe’s and Incogni’s sites. Scores come from our methodology, and the coverage numbers from the Data Removal Coverage Index.

Price and value

Incogni is cheaper. On 10/08/2026 its Standard plan cost $95.88 for a year at checkout, about $8 a month (our math: $95.88 ÷ 12), and it also sells month to month at $15.98. DeleteMe’s cheapest option was $129.00 for one person for a year, and it has no monthly plan. A 20% first-year code (JOINNOW or SCAN20) brings DeleteMe to $103.20, still above Incogni’s regular price.

For a family, the gap is wider: DeleteMe’s family plan covers four people for $329 a year, Incogni’s covers up to five for $191.88.

Checkout honesty

Incogni showed more before payment. Its checkout printed the renewal amount, “renew for the same duration at $95.88 (price may change).” DeleteMe’s checkout showed $129.00 and no renewal amount, and its terms say the plan renews “at either the current or full retail rate.” Neither added sales tax for a New York address. DeleteMe asks you to tick a box agreeing to be charged at each renewal, while Incogni’s auto-renew is part of entering your payment details, with no box. Incogni offered PayPal, Apple Pay and cards. DeleteMe offered a card or Link.

Coverage: which brokers each one removes you from

DeleteMe’s list is longer, but most of it isn’t in the basic plan. On 10/08/2026 DeleteMe’s list had 957 unique domains, and its legend marked 91 of them “Included in Standard Plan and above.” The rest are custom requests, VIP-only, international or business sites. Incogni’s list had 417 unique domains, and Incogni says every plan covers all of them.

On our control list of 16 large people-search sites, each covers 10 on its basic plan, but not the same 10. Only DeleteMe’s Standard plan has BeenVerified and ClustrMaps. Only Incogni has Nuwber and Acxiom. Both cover Whitepages, Spokeo, FastPeopleSearch, TruePeopleSearch, MyLife, PeopleFinders, PeopleLooker and That’s Them. Neither covers Intelius, TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate or Radaris on its basic plan.

Custom requests and human help

This is where DeleteMe is stronger. Its Standard plan includes 40 custom removal requests a year: you paste a link to a listing DeleteMe doesn’t cover, and its staff handle it. Incogni includes custom removals only on its Unlimited plans, which cost $179.88 a year for one person. DeleteMe also offers phone support on every plan, Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET, where Incogni keeps phone support for Unlimited.

Data handling and cancellation

Both ask for similar details: name, address, date of birth, phone and email, and neither asks for a Social Security number. DeleteMe’s help center describes a “Delete my account” button in the dashboard. Incogni’s help center says the account is deleted only by contacting support. To stop renewal, DeleteMe’s path is Account, then Billing & Subscriptions. Incogni’s is Profile, then Subscription & billing, Manage billing and Cancel subscription. I couldn’t test either path, because neither service opens an account before payment.

What people say

I found 8 threads comparing the two between 10/2024 and 10/2026, plus 9 that moderators removed. Reasons that passed our threshold of three independent mentions on two platforms, which I didn’t verify case by case:

  • Results: 5 mentions say spam or listings dropped with Incogni. One Reddit user wrote, “I used it for a year and it worked BETTER than I had hoped” (r/IdentityTheft, 07/09/2026).
  • Listings come back: 4 mentions, about both services, say brokers re-add people after removal, so removal has to be ongoing.
  • Handing over your data: 4 mentions question giving either service your details in the first place.
  • Price: 3 mentions call Incogni cheaper or both too expensive.
  • Cancellation: 3 mentions describe friction canceling Incogni, and 3 replies in the same threads point to a cancel button in its dashboard.

No independent test measured both services together. Consumer Reports’ 2023 test found DeleteMe had removed 27% of volunteers’ profiles after four months (Incogni wasn’t included). A 2025 peer-reviewed study at PoPETs found Incogni removed 76.6% of the records it found within 30 days (DeleteMe wasn’t in its user test). The two studies used different methods, so the numbers can’t be compared directly.

  • You want phone support on the basic plan.
  • You need BeenVerified or ClustrMaps covered without upgrading.

Who should pick Incogni

  • You want the lower price and to know the renewal amount before you pay.
  • You’d like to start month to month.
  • You need Nuwber or Acxiom covered, or a family plan for five.

Verdict

Incogni comes out ahead on our scale, 7.6 against 7.1, mostly on price and checkout honesty. It costs less, shows the renewal price, and doesn’t split its list by plan. DeleteMe is the better buy if custom requests matter to you, since they’re included on its basic plan. If you don’t know which sites list you, run both free scans first: each takes a minute.
