Terms of Use

Effective 10/08/2026. By using vettedprivacy.com you agree to these terms. If you don’t, please don’t use the site.

What this site is

Vetted Privacy publishes reviews, comparisons, tests and guides about privacy services sold to U.S. consumers. The content is information and opinion, written by one named author from a test account, the vendor’s published pages and public user reports. It is not a vendor’s page and not a store. You buy from the vendor, on the vendor’s terms.

Nothing on this site is legal, financial, tax or insurance advice. Pages about identity theft, credit freezes, credit monitoring and data broker laws describe what we checked on a given date. For your own situation, talk to a licensed attorney, a credit counselor or the relevant agency. If you think your identity has been stolen, start at IdentityTheft.gov, the FTC’s official site.

Prices, features and dates

Every price, plan, broker count, limit and policy on this site is as of the date printed next to it. Vendors change prices, plans and terms without telling us. Before you pay, check the vendor’s checkout. Where a price came from a third party rather than the vendor’s own page, the page says so.

Test accounts and what we don’t claim

Reviews are based on free plans and trials opened with test data, on checkouts followed up to the payment button without paying, and on documents. The site doesn’t claim to have used a service for months, to have had data removed, or to have had an insurance claim paid. Where a step couldn’t be checked, the page says so.

The site earns commissions from some vendors when you sign up through a /go/ link. How that works, which programs are involved and what a commission doesn’t change is on the affiliate disclosure page.

Intellectual property

Text, tables, test data, CSV files and the screenshots we take belong to Vetted Privacy. Vendor interfaces shown in screenshots, logos and product names belong to their owners and are shown to describe the products.

You may quote up to 200 words from a page, or one table row, with a link to the page. You may cite a test by the page’s “How to cite” block. You may not copy a page, a table, a test dataset or a screenshot set to another site, with or without changes.

Accuracy and corrections

We try to get every fact right and we date every fact. We still make mistakes. If you find one, write through the contact page, and the correction goes on the page with its date. The site doesn’t promise that any page is complete or current on the day you read it.

Limitation of liability

To the extent allowed by law, Vetted Privacy and its author are not liable for any loss arising from your use of the site or from a decision you make based on it, including a purchase, a subscription, a renewal charge, or a data removal or protection outcome. Your agreement with a vendor is between you and the vendor.

Links to vendors, data brokers, regulators and other sources lead to sites we don’t control. Their content and their terms are theirs.

Changes to these terms

When these terms change, the “Updated” date at the bottom changes. Continued use after a change means you accept the new terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state where the site’s operator is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Nothing here takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your own state.
