Opt-out forms and policies change; we checked this one on 10/08/2026.

Quick answer: Yes, you can opt out of FastPeopleSearch for free, without an account. On 10/08/2026 it took two forms and an emailed link that expires after 24 hours. FastPeopleSearch says to allow 3 days. Its own notice says your listing can come back, and owners in states without a privacy law report denials.

What FastPeopleSearch shows about you (and where it gets it)

FastPeopleSearch is a free people-search site. A name search returns cards with age, current city, past addresses, relatives, and aliases, and each card opens a free report. Paid links from TruthFinder, Instant Checkmate, and Intelius sit between the results.

The site is run by Mississippi Tornado Alley, LLC of Sacramento, California. The company’s 2026 entry in the California Data Broker Registry lists nine more sites it operates, including CyberBackgroundChecks.com, USPhoneBook.com, SearchPeopleFree.com, and USA-People-Search.com (registry checked 10/08/2026). Its privacy notice says the data comes largely from public records, which it treats as outside state privacy laws.

Step 1: Find your listing on fastpeoplesearch.com

Search your full name with your city and state, then open the card that matches your age and addresses. Write down the details on it: the second opt-out form asks for information that “should match the information on the record you want removed.”

For my test identity, the search on 10/08/2026 found no listing, only other people with the same surname. So I couldn’t take the form past the final submit button: there was no record to certify. Everything up to that button is from my own run.

Step 2: Open the opt-out page and send the short form

The opt-out page is fastpeoplesearch.com/optout, linked from the privacy notice as “Opt-Out Form.” The footer’s “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link leads to a notice page, not the form. The opt-out page lists four steps and says to “allow 3 days for your record to be fully removed from our site.”

The first form asks if you are the person or an authorized agent, then your first and last name and an email address. Tick the consent box and pass the Cloudflare “Verify you are human” check. Expect full-screen ads on the way. Close them with the X.

Step 3: Confirm by email and fill out the second form

After you submit, the site says “You’re not done!” My email from noreply@fastpeoplesearch.com arrived within a minute. Its link opens the second form and expires after 24 hours. After that you start again.

After the first form: “You're not done!” The rest of the opt-out happens through the emailed link. Screenshot taken on 10/08/2026

The second form says FastPeopleSearch “will attempt to locate your record and opt it out within 3 days.” It warns that incomplete answers can leave records behind, and that data from a record it couldn’t match “may appear on our site in the future.”

What FastPeopleSearch asks for

  • Required: first and last name, city, state, ZIP, and email.
  • One of two: date of birth or street address. Give the one that’s on your listing.
  • Optional: middle name and phone. The phone field had no required mark on 10/08/2026.
  • Not asked: SSN, an ID photo, or the listing URL. You also don’t need a FastPeopleSearch account.

You then certify that the information is accurate and pass a second Cloudflare check. Give the minimum the form requires and match what your listing already shows.

The second form wants a date of birth or a street address, plus city, state and ZIP. Phone has no asterisk. Screenshot taken on 10/08/2026

Step 4: Wait 3 days and check again

After the second form, FastPeopleSearch’s instructions say you’ll see a confirmation page and get a confirmation email (opt-out page and email, 10/08/2026). Its own pages give 3 days. In its 2026 California registration, the company reported 1,204,017 opt-out requests, 993,412 complied with in full, and 207,021 denied, with a median response of 1 day.

To check, repeat the Step 1 search in a private browser window. Also search Google for your name with “fastpeoplesearch.”

Why your profile can come back (and why some requests are denied)

The privacy notice (last updated 08/10/2026) is direct about it: “we regularly receive new public records so even if you opt out, your publicly available information may appear in our Data Products again in the future.” It recommends you “periodically refresh your opt-out request.” The same notice says opt-outs of public-record data are applied “as a courtesy” and don’t remove the data from its original source.

What owners report

The sample is small: three Reddit threads from March to June 2026.

  • Denied by state. A Georgia resident wrote in June 2026 that FastPeopleSearch and TruePeopleSearch both refused, because the state lacks a comprehensive consumer privacy law. Incogni’s team said the same about FastPeopleSearch on Reddit in September 2026.
  • Asked for a phone. One commenter in March 2026 said the site asked for a phone number to confirm identity, then didn’t remove the listing or put it back months later.
  • Back after a month. A May 2026 post on manual opt-outs reported the address “back on FastPeopleSearch” in the second month.

Opt-out rights vary by state. California residents can also send one free deletion request to registered data brokers through the state’s DROP platform. Since 08/01/2026, brokers must check it at least every 45 days, and Mississippi Tornado Alley is a registered broker.

Opting out of the sister sites

The registry entry says consumers can submit an opt-out “on any of these sites.” It doesn’t say whether one request covers all ten, and I couldn’t confirm that either way. If you find yourself on CyberBackgroundChecks.com or USPhoneBook.com after 3 days, opt out there too.

When a removal service is cheaper than your time

One FastPeopleSearch opt-out is two forms and an email. The problem is repeating it on many sites every few months. On 10/08/2026, OneRep’s published list of 314 people-search sites, which every plan covers, included fastpeoplesearch.com and all nine sister sites from the registry entry. Our Data Removal Coverage Index counts every service’s list.

Create a free OneRep account to see where your name appears first. Removals start with a 5-day trial that needs a card, then $99.95/year for one person (checkout, 10/08/2026). One thing to know: OneRep’s founder said in March 2024 that he still owned a stake in Nuwber, a people-search site. The OneRep review covers it.

FAQ

Is the FastPeopleSearch opt-out free?

Yes. On 10/08/2026 the opt-out at fastpeoplesearch.com/optout asked for no payment and no account. You need an email address, and the second form asks for your date of birth or street address, plus city, state, and ZIP.

How long does FastPeopleSearch take to remove a listing?

The opt-out page says to allow 3 days, and the second form says FastPeopleSearch will try to opt the record out within 3 days (checked 10/08/2026). In its 2026 California registration, the company reported a median of 1 day to respond to opt-out requests.

Why is my information back on FastPeopleSearch?

Its privacy notice says new public records keep arriving, so your information “may appear in our Data Products again in the future,” and it recommends refreshing your opt-out periodically (notice last updated 08/10/2026). Check again every few months.

Why did FastPeopleSearch deny my opt-out?

Owners on Reddit report denials that cite the lack of a comprehensive consumer privacy law in their state, such as Georgia in June 2026. The privacy notice applies opt-outs of public-record data only “as a courtesy.” We didn't submit a full request ourselves, so we couldn't confirm the wording.

Do I have to give FastPeopleSearch my phone number?

No. On 10/08/2026 the phone field on the second form had no required mark, unlike name, city, state, ZIP, email, and date of birth or street address. FastPeopleSearch asks for no SSN and no ID photo.

Does a removal service cover FastPeopleSearch?

Some do. On 10/08/2026 FastPeopleSearch was on the published lists of OneRep (all plans), Incogni (all plans), and DeleteMe (Standard plan), and on Optery's list only for Ultimate. Our coverage index compares the lists.
