Get Cloaked

Quick answer: Yes, Cloaked is a real privacy subscription from Cloaked, Inc. of Massachusetts, with a 4.6 average from 25,196 App Store ratings on 10/16/2026. It bundles email and phone aliases, data broker removals and spam call screening. There's no free plan: the checkout asked $99.99 for a year and showed no renewal price or tax line.

I couldn’t open a test account on 10/16/2026: Cloaked has no free plan or trial, and the account is created inside the checkout with a card or PayPal. Everything below comes from Cloaked’s published pages, its checkout up to the card field and a third-party test, not from inside the account. I didn’t pay, and I didn’t wait for any removals.

Summary

  • What it is: one subscription for masked email addresses and phone numbers, data broker removals and spam call screening. A VPN, a password manager and identity theft insurance come with it.
  • Price: the pricing page says $119.99 a year for one person. The checkout on 10/16/2026 asked $99.99. Month to month it’s $14.99.
  • Best thing I found: every plan has the full feature set, including unlimited email and phone aliases, and the removal list is public: 1,059 entries.
  • Worst thing I found: the checkout showed no renewal price, no tax line and no auto-renewal sentence, next to a countdown whose discount didn’t end when the timer did.
  • Free option: none. The free scan needs your phone number and an SMS code.
  • Not for you if you want to try it before paying, need encrypted email, or rely on calls from unknown numbers getting through.

How we rate Cloaked

Grades come from Cloaked’s checkout and published pages on 10/16/2026 and, where I couldn’t get inside, from All About Cookies’ test account (updated 10/14/2026). Results and Ease of use lean on those third-party sources. Support is graded on Cloaked’s published channels while our question waits for an answer.

CriterionGradeWhat it’s based on (10/16/2026)
Results (30%)ExcellentUnlimited email and phone aliases, broker removal from a published list of 1,059 entries that covers all 16 people-search sites we track, Call Guard and $1M insurance in every plan. All About Cookies counted 40 exposures removed in 16 days
Price & value (20%)Good$99.99 at checkout for a year of the whole bundle ($119.99 on the pricing page), or $14.99 a month. No free plan or trial
Checkout honesty (15%)GoodTotal shown before the card, cancel steps in the help center, a 30-day money-back line. No renewal price, no auto-renewal sentence, no tax line, and the terms say charges are non-refundable unless Cloaked decides otherwise
Data handling (15%)GoodNo SSN for the core service, a privacy policy that says data is never sold, self-service deletion. Removals need your name, past addresses and birth date
Ease of use (10%)ExcellentOne account on iPhone, Android, Mac, three browser extensions and the web, created in one checkout screen. Third-party testers describe a dashboard that tracks each removal

What’s good

  • Every plan lists the same features: “Unlimited Phone Aliases,” “Unlimited Email Aliases,” data removal, Call Guard, a VPN and a password manager (pricing page, 10/16/2026).
  • Cloaked publishes the sites it removes your data from. On 10/16/2026 the list had 1,059 entries, the same count as on 10/08/2026.
  • The checkout showed a total before the card fields, and accepted a phone number, an email address or a username as your login.
  • You don’t need to give an SSN for aliases or removals. Only Cloaked Pay, the invite-only virtual card, asks for one.
  • The help center describes a three-step cancel for card payments and a self-service account deletion.

What’s bad

  • The checkout and the pricing page disagree: $99.99 for the Individual year at checkout, $119.99 on the pricing page, on the same day.
  • A five-minute countdown offered “20% off,” but when it ran out the total stayed $99.99. Only the crossed-out $124.99 disappeared.
  • No renewal price, tax line or auto-renewal sentence at checkout, and none in the terms either.
  • The checkout promises a “Hassle free 30 day money back guarantee,” while the terms say charges are “final and non-refundable, unless otherwise determined by Cloaked.”
  • In recent App Store reviews, the most common complaints were that spam calls didn’t drop and that Call Guard blocked calls people wanted.

What Cloaked is and how it works

Cloaked is sold by Cloaked, Inc. (Cloaked International, Inc. outside the U.S.), according to its terms of service effective 10/20/2025. Massachusetts law governs them. BBB lists the company at 1075 Westford St, Lowell, MA, with a start date of 08/27/2020.

A company post dated 03/29/2022 says it was founded in 2020 by brothers Arjun and Abhijay Bhatnagar. A post dated 03/19/2026 announced $375 million in Series B and growth financing led by General Catalyst and Liberty City Ventures, and “350,000+ subscribers.”

According to Cloaked’s help center and pricing page, it works like this:

  1. You buy a plan and create the account in the same checkout, with a phone number, an email address or a username.
  2. You make identities. Each one gets its own email address, phone number, username and password, and mail and texts land in a Cloaked inbox.
  3. You enroll in data removal with your name, current and past addresses, birth date, emails and phone numbers. Cloaked sends removal requests and rescans.
  4. Call Guard screens unknown callers on your real phone number. The terms say those conversations “may be recorded and transcribed.”

The footer says Cloaked is “Currently available in” the U.S. and Canada. The identity theft insurance is “underwritten by insurance company subsidiaries or affiliates of American International Group, Inc. (AIG),” the insurance page says.

Results in the US Privacy Checkout Test

Cloaked’s row in our checkout test, run on 10/16/2026 with Individual yearly, the United States and ZIP 10001:

AxisWhat I saw
Renewal price before paymentNot shown anywhere: checkout, pricing page or terms. The checkout showed “$124.99 $99.99 due today”
Tax and total“$99.99 due today” before the card, with no tax line. The total didn’t change after I entered ZIP 10001. The terms say charges include applicable taxes
Auto-renewal disclosureNone found. The plan cards say “Cancel anytime” and the PayPal button reads “Subscribe”
Card for trialNo free plan or trial. The account is created in the checkout with a card or PayPal
Cancel pathCouldn’t test it. Help center: subscription settings, “Cancel Subscription,” “Confirm”
Refund window as printed30 days on the checkout. The terms make charges non-refundable unless Cloaked decides otherwise
Data deletionCouldn’t test it. Help center: a scheduled deletion with a 30-day grace period, then an optional permanent deletion
Support answerEmailed at 12:09 p.m. ET; no reply when this page was written

The grades for each axis sit on the checkout test page, next to the other services. One thing to check if you buy: the country field filled in from my network, and I had to switch it to the United States before the ZIP field appeared.

Where Cloaked stands in the Data Removal Coverage Index

Cloaked’s data removal page says “1,000+ sites and growing” and lists them by name. I downloaded all 11 pages of the list on 10/16/2026 and counted 1,059 unique entries. Cloaked tags 354 of them “Data broker” and 705 “Other website,” which includes companies such as Abbott, Accenture and Ace Hardware. All 16 people-search sites we track, from Whitepages and Spokeo to FastPeopleSearch and MyLife, are on it, on every plan.

Being on the list doesn’t mean the removal is automatic. Cloaked’s help center (updated 05/20/2026) says PeopleConnect sites such as Intelius and TruthFinder need user-verified requests, and that Radaris and BeenVerified get manual steps. How the list compares with DeleteMe, Optery and Incogni is on the Data Removal Coverage Index.

Cloaked's published removal list tags each entry “Data broker” or “Other website.” On 10/16/2026 it had 1,059 entries: 354 brokers, 705 other sites. Screenshot taken on 10/16/2026

Pricing summary

On 10/16/2026 Cloaked’s pricing page listed Individual at $9.99 a month on annual billing, “Billed at $119.99 per year,” or $14.99 month to month. Couple was $174.99 a year and Family $299.99.

The checkout charged less for a year: $99.99, $149.99 and $249.99, each next to a crossed-out higher price. Monthly plans cost the same as on the pricing page. No renewal price appeared anywhere, and the terms say Cloaked can revise charges “at any time.” Plan by plan, with the checkout figures: Cloaked pricing.

No free plan

Cloaked has no free plan, and I found no trial on the pricing page or the checkout on 10/16/2026. What’s free is a scan: the page at buy.cloaked.com asks for one thing, your phone number, and sends a one-time passcode by SMS before showing results. I had no test phone number to receive the code, so I didn’t run it.

Cloaked’s help center (updated 07/01/2026) says the free scan “does not remove your information” and that removals start only with a paid plan. The privacy policy says Cloaked keeps the scan phone number only long enough to send a few reminders.

The free scan takes a phone number and a one-time SMS code. I had no test phone number, so I didn't run it. Screenshot taken on 10/16/2026

Interface and ease of use

The part of Cloaked I could use without paying is the checkout. It’s one screen: three plan cards on the left, account and payment on the right. The account box offers “Phone number,” “Email address” or “Username.” With email, it asks for the address and a password twice.

Payment is PayPal or a card through Stripe, and the country field decides whether a ZIP code appears. A pre-checked box reads “Give Cloaked permission to remove my data.”

Past the payment step I relied on others. All About Cookies’ review (updated 10/14/2026) describes a dashboard with each broker’s status, counts of removed records and a 30-day countdown to the next scan. A screenshot in Cloaked’s own cancel article shows the same layout: “Removing” and “Monitoring” lists and an “Exposure Status” panel.

Apps: Cloaked lists iPhone, Android and Mac apps and extensions for Chrome, Safari and Firefox. On 10/16/2026 the App Store showed version 2.91.7, released that day, and Google Play an update from 10/15/2026.

The account is created inside the checkout: a phone number, an email address or a username, plus a password. There's no free account without a plan. Screenshot taken on 10/16/2026

Aliases and masked phone numbers

Aliases are the center of Cloaked. Each “identity” bundles one email address, one phone number, one username and one password, Cloaked’s help center says (updated 03/04/2026). Mail sent to a Cloaked address lands in a unified Cloaked inbox on the web and in the app, and you can reply or write new mail from the alias.

Phone numbers take calls and texts, but outbound calls work only in the mobile app. Every plan lists unlimited email and phone aliases.

There’s a catch for heavy users. The terms say an account that creates “50+ Cloaked identities” in 30 days doesn’t qualify for a refund. All About Cookies reports that its email tab “was glitchy and didn’t load on Android or iPhone.” I couldn’t create an alias myself, so I can’t confirm either way.

Cloaked's help center: each identity bundles one email address, one phone number, one username and one password. Screenshot taken on 10/16/2026

Encryption: what’s protected and from whom

Cloaked isn’t an encrypted email service in the way Proton Mail is. It doesn’t describe end-to-end encrypted mail between users. What it does say: “All messages, emails, and texts are encrypted inside Cloaked,” and each user has a separate database (trust page, 10/16/2026).

Its getting-started article (updated 10/14/2026) says Cloaked uses “zero-knowledge encryption,” so it can’t reset your password or read encrypted data. If you lose both your password and the recovery key, that data is gone.

The trust page lists ISO 27001 and ISO 27701 certifications. It marks PCI DSS and SOC 2 Type 2 audits “Audit Complete: Compliant.” None of the reports is public there, so I can’t tell you who did them or when. If you need mail that only you and the recipient can read, Proton Mail is built for that.

Custom domains and apps

I found no custom domain option for aliases on Cloaked’s pricing page or help center on 10/16/2026. Your aliases use Cloaked’s own domains. Apps cover iPhone, Android and Mac, plus browser extensions for Chrome, Safari and Firefox, which fill in an identity when a site asks for an email or phone number. The getting-started article says the mobile app is required to call or text from Cloaked numbers.

Virtual cards (Cloaked Pay)

The pricing page lists “Virtual Cards (invite only).” Cloaked’s help center says you join a waitlist from the app after subscribing, and that the cards are built with Mastercard. The card agreement names Community Federal Savings Bank as issuer.

To get one, you give your legal name, birth date, U.S. address and Social Security number. Without a valid SSN, “you won’t be eligible to use Cloaked Pay,” the help center says. I didn’t get an invitation, so I didn’t test it. Free ways to get a virtual card number are in our virtual credit card guide.

Virtual cards need your Social Security number: without it, “you won't be eligible to use Cloaked Pay,” the help center says. Screenshot taken on 10/16/2026

What it’s like to be a U.S. customer: price, cancellation, data, support

What you’ll actually pay at checkout

On 10/16/2026 the Individual yearly checkout showed “$124.99 $99.99 due today” under a five-minute timer “to save 20% off your annual subscription.” I let it run out. The total stayed $99.99 and only the crossed-out price disappeared.

I set the country to the United States and the ZIP to 10001. No tax line appeared, and the terms say charges “will be inclusive of applicable taxes where required by law.” I saw no renewal price and no auto-renewal sentence. Payment options were PayPal and cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover).

What’s in the plan (and what isn’t)

  • Every plan: data removal, Call Guard, unlimited email and phone aliases, data exposure alerts, identity theft insurance, a VPN, a password manager and eSIM availability, per the pricing page
  • Couple covers you and one person, Family you and three. You can’t remove a family member’s records on Individual, the help center says
  • Not included: a free tier, custom domains for aliases, and credit monitoring (none found on Cloaked’s pages)
  • Cloaked Pay virtual cards are “invite only” and need an SSN

How to cancel and get a refund

I couldn’t reach the cancel screen without a paid account. For card payments, Cloaked’s help center (updated 04/18/2026) gives three steps: open my.cloaked.com/settings/subscription, click “Cancel Subscription,” click “Confirm.”

In the app it’s profile, Settings, Subscription, Cancel. PayPal, App Store and Google Play subscriptions are canceled there. After canceling, the account turns read-only, removals stop and the insurance ends. You also have to turn off Call Guard yourself.

Cloaked's cancel steps for card payments: subscription settings, “Cancel Subscription,” then “Confirm.” Without a paid account, this is the vendor's page, not my screen. Screenshot taken on 10/16/2026

Refunds are where Cloaked’s own pages disagree. The checkout promises a “Hassle free 30 day money back guarantee.” The terms (effective 10/20/2025) say charges are “final and non-refundable, unless otherwise determined by Cloaked.” The help center adds that refund requests are “reviewed manually.”

All About Cookies says the app showed an error when its tester tried to cancel, and the refund came only on a third email. This is not legal advice.

Cloaked's terms: charges include applicable taxes and are “final and non-refundable, unless otherwise determined by Cloaked.” The checkout promises 30 days. Screenshot taken on 10/16/2026

What personal data they ask for — and how to delete it

To buy, you give a phone number, an email address or a username, a password and a card or PayPal. To run removals, Cloaked asks for “generally your name, current and past addresses, date of birth, and known emails and numbers” (privacy policy, last updated 09/19/2026). All About Cookies says an SSN was optional at enrollment.

The policy says: “We have never and will never sell your personal information.” It gives deletion and access rights in every state. Requests go through cloaked.com/privacy-request, privacy@cloaked.com or +1 (888) 857 5490, with answers within 45 days.

Deleting the account takes two stages, the help center says. First, Settings, then Account, then “Delete account” schedules deletion with a 30-day grace period. Then “Permanently delete my account now” and your password erase it at once. I couldn’t test either.

Deleting a Cloaked account takes two stages: a scheduled deletion with a 30-day grace period, then an optional “Permanently delete my account now.” Screenshot taken on 10/16/2026

Who can sign up (U.S. only, state limits, age)

Cloaked says it’s available in the U.S. and Canada. The insurance is “limited to U.S. individuals.” It “may not be available in all jurisdictions,” the insurance page adds. The terms send disputes to binding JAMS arbitration with a class action waiver, under Massachusetts law.

Cloaked Pay needs a U.S. address and an SSN. I couldn’t find a minimum age on Cloaked’s site on 10/16/2026.

Support: channels and hours (ET)

The contact page lists support@cloaked.com. The privacy policy says the AI assistant Kit handles billing, including cancellations and refunds.

People answer Mon–Fri 9 a.m.–8 p.m. ET and Sat–Sun 9 a.m.–1 p.m. ET, it says, while the cancel article says support works “around the clock by phone, chat, and email.”

I emailed our standard question on 10/16/2026 at 12:09 p.m. ET: whether canceling in the first week gets a full refund, and whether my data is deleted after canceling. I had no reply when I wrote this.

What we saw inside the account

I couldn’t open a test account on 10/16/2026: there’s no free plan or trial, and the free scan needs an SMS code. What the dashboard looks like comes from Cloaked’s help center and All About Cookies’ test.

In that test, the first scan found 16 records. By 09/29/2026, 40 exposures had been removed and 22 broker sites were still in progress. Several automation packs needed the tester to confirm details or solve a CAPTCHA with the app open.

Is Cloaked safe and legit?

Cloaked is a real company with public terms, a published removal list and an active app. On 10/16/2026 it had 25,196 App Store ratings averaging 4.6 and 21.1K Google Play reviews averaging 4.6. BBB rates it B and lists it as accredited since 06/16/2025, with 44 complaints in the last three years. I found no FTC, CFPB or state actions and no federal court cases naming Cloaked, Inc. in searches on 10/16/2026.

On security, Cloaked claims zero-knowledge encryption and lists ISO and SOC 2 certifications without public reports. Accounts support two-factor authentication and security keys, per the trust page. The privacy policy says nothing is sold or shared for advertising. Call Guard can record and transcribe calls from unknown numbers, the terms say, and some states require everyone on a call to consent to recording.

What other users say

On Trustpilot, Cloaked had 762 reviews on 10/16/2026. On App Store, Cloaked had 25196 reviews on 10/16/2026. I didn't verify each case.

bought this subscription from this app, now i get 4-6 scam calls PER DAY. not worth it at all.

App Store, 1-star review, 10/12/2026

This does block some spam calls… but it also blocks some real calls

App Store, 1-star review, 10/04/2026

Flo was awesome and really took the time to walk us through the many steps

Trustpilot, 5-star review, 10/15/2026

On Trustpilot, Cloaked had 762 reviews and 3.7/5 on 10/16/2026: 63% five-star and 23% one-star, with replies to 98% of negative reviews. Many five-star reviews name a phone agent who helped with setup.

The App Store tells a sharper story. Of the 50 most recent reviews (10/02–10/14/2026), 23 gave one or two stars. Eleven said spam calls, texts or emails didn’t drop or got worse, seven said Call Guard blocked calls they wanted, and three described refunds not given. I didn’t verify each case.

Who it’s for (and who it’s not for)

Cloaked fits you if:

  • You want throwaway email addresses and phone numbers for shopping, dating apps or sign-ups, in one app.
  • You’d pay about $100 a year to add broker removals, call screening and a password manager to that.
  • You want a public list of the sites a removal service covers before you buy.
  • A couple or a family wants one bill: $149.99 or $249.99 a year at checkout on 10/16/2026.

Look elsewhere if:

  • You want to try it free first. There’s no free plan or trial.
  • You need encrypted email, your own domain for aliases, or credit monitoring.
  • You depend on calls from numbers not in your contacts, like doctors’ offices or schools.

What I’d change

  • Print the renewal price and an auto-renewal line at checkout, next to the total.
  • Make the checkout and the pricing page show the same yearly price.
  • Drop the countdown, or let the discount actually expire with it.
  • Put the 30-day refund in the terms, so the checkout promise and the contract match.
  • Offer a short free tier or trial for aliases, like most alias services do.

Alternatives to Cloaked (on this site)

  • Proton Mail is encrypted email with a free plan and 10 hide-my-email aliases through Proton Pass. It has no masked phone numbers and no broker removal. Mail Plus was $47.88 a year on 10/09/2026.
  • DeleteMe focuses on removals from data brokers and has no aliases or call screening.
  • Incogni sends removal requests to brokers on a published list and printed its renewal price before payment in our checkout test.

All of these, plus free alias options, are compared on Cloaked alternatives and the best email alias services ranking.

Verdict: is Cloaked worth it in 2026?

Cloaked is worth it if you want email and phone aliases, broker removals and call screening from one subscription. Every plan has every feature, the removal list is public, and the checkout asked $99.99 for a year on 10/16/2026.

Go in with your eyes open. The checkout didn’t tell me the renewal price or that the plan renews, its countdown discount didn’t expire, and its 30-day money-back line isn’t in the terms. Cancel steps and refunds are what Cloaked’s help center and other testers describe, not something I saw myself. The most common complaint from paying users is that spam calls didn’t drop.

What we checked

  • Test account: couldn't open one. Cloaked has no free plan or trial, the account is created inside the checkout with a card or PayPal, and the free scan needs an SMS code sent to a phone number
  • Checkout: Individual yearly opened to the card field on 10/16/2026 with the United States and ZIP 10001 — “$124.99 $99.99 due today” during a five-minute countdown, $99.99 after it ended. No tax line, no renewal price, no auto-renewal sentence. Couple and Family yearly and all three monthly plans checked the same way. I didn't pay
  • Cancellation: not reachable without a paid account. Steps and the after-cancel table from Cloaked's help center (updated 04/18/2026)
  • Account deletion: not reachable. Two-stage deletion from the help center (updated 03/04/2026)
  • Vendor pages: pricing (annual and monthly), terms of service (effective 10/20/2025), privacy policy (last updated 09/19/2026), the trust page, seven help center articles, the data removal list (1,059 entries) — captured 10/16/2026
  • Support: our standard question emailed to support@cloaked.com on 10/16/2026 at 12:09 p.m. ET — no reply when this page was written
  • User reports: Trustpilot (762 reviews, 3.7/5), BBB profile (B, 44 complaints in three years), App Store listing (25,196 ratings) and its 50 most recent reviews, Google Play listing (21.1K reviews), read 10/16/2026. Reddit blocked our network; threads were listed from an archive on 10/08/2026
  • Third-party material for the dashboard and removals: All About Cookies' Cloaked review (published 07/22/2026, updated 10/14/2026), which says it receives compensation from the products it covers
  • Public records: web search for FTC, CFPB and state actions and a CourtListener search for “Cloaked, Inc.” on 10/16/2026 — no results
  • Network: the run went through a non-U.S. exit, so I set the billing country to the United States by hand. Prices showed in USD
  • Where the run stopped: card field of the checkout. Cloaked has no free plan or trial, so I couldn't open an account without paying, and the free scan needs an SMS code sent to a phone. The dashboard, cancel and delete screens come from Cloaked's help center and a third-party review, not from my own account.

FAQ

Is Cloaked legit?

Yes. Cloaked is sold by Cloaked, Inc., a Massachusetts company founded in 2020, and its app had a 4.6 average from 25,196 App Store ratings on 10/16/2026. I found no FTC, CFPB or court actions against it. Recurring complaints exist, mostly about spam calls not dropping and Call Guard blocking wanted calls.

Is the Cloaked app safe to use?

Cloaked says it uses zero-knowledge encryption and never sells personal information, per its help center and privacy policy on 10/16/2026. Its trust page lists ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type 2 certifications, but the reports aren't public. The core service doesn't ask for your SSN. Only the Cloaked Pay virtual cards do.

Does Cloaked really remove your data?

It sends removal requests to sites on a published list of 1,059 entries, 354 of them tagged as data brokers (10/16/2026). I didn't measure removals. All About Cookies reported 40 exposures removed after 16 days in its test, with 22 broker sites still in progress. Some brokers need manual steps.

How much does Cloaked cost?

The pricing page lists Individual at $119.99 a year or $14.99 a month. On 10/16/2026 the checkout asked $99.99 for the Individual year, $149.99 for Couple and $249.99 for Family. No renewal price was shown. Details on the Cloaked pricing page.

Does Cloaked auto-renew?

I couldn't find an auto-renewal sentence on Cloaked's pricing page, checkout or terms on 10/16/2026. The plan cards say “Cancel anytime” and the PayPal button reads “Subscribe.” Reviewers report renewal charges, so treat it as a renewing plan and cancel in subscription settings if you don't want another year.

What do people on Reddit say about Cloaked?

Reddit blocked our network on 10/16/2026. From an archive on 10/08/2026, I listed 36 threads with Cloaked in the title, mostly asking whether its data removal works and how it compares with DeleteMe. I didn't read the comments, so I don't summarize them here.
