Best Cloaked Alternatives in 2026: 6 Services I Compared
Reviewed · Updated
Quick answer: The closest Cloaked alternative is Proton Pass: its free plan gives you 10 hide-my-email aliases and a password manager with no card, and Pass Plus removes the alias limit for $35.88 the first year. If you bought Cloaked for data broker removal, Optery (8.8/10 on this site) has a free scan and a $39/year plan. No single service matches Cloaked's whole bundle, so pick by the feature you use (checked 10/09/2026).
Why people look for a Cloaked alternative
Cloaked sells one $119.99-a-year bundle: data broker removal, unlimited email and phone aliases, call screening, a password manager, a VPN and $1M identity theft insurance. The reasons people shop around come from Cloaked’s own pages and from owner reviews I read on 10/08/2026:
- No free plan and no trial you can find. The pricing page showed none. The insurance page mentions “the Cloaked free trial,” but neither pricing nor checkout offered one.
- Refund terms that disagree with the checkout. The terms, effective 10/20/2025, say charges are “final and non-refundable, unless otherwise determined by Cloaked.” The checkout advertised a “30 day money back guarantee.” Owners on Trustpilot and the App Store reported refunds refused and monthly plans billed as annual.
- A removal list that is mostly not brokers. Of 1,059 entries on Cloaked’s published list, 354 were tagged “Data broker” and 705 “Other website,” such as Abbott and Ace Hardware. PeopleConnect sites, Radaris and BeenVerified need manual steps, per Cloaked’s help center.
- Removals that owners say stall. Five owners across two platforms described records stuck at “in progress” for weeks or months. Others reported spam calls rising after sign-up.
- An AI agent before a person. Cloaked’s privacy policy says its assistant “Kit” handles cancellations and refunds, with people available weekdays 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET and weekend mornings. Owners described a dozen emails with Kit and no result.
- Virtual cards need your SSN. Cloaked Pay asks for a Social Security number, and it was “invite only” on 10/08/2026.
Cloaked had 3.7/5 on Trustpilot from 750 reviews and a B rating at BBB with 42 complaints in three years on 10/08/2026. Many five-star reviews praise a named support rep, so the experience clearly varies.
Quick comparison
No one service replaces the whole bundle. The table shows what each alternative covers, what it costs and whether you can start free. Scores come from our scale. A service without a run and an approved score shows “Score pending.”
| Service | Score | Replaces from Cloaked | Price for one person, per year | Free option | Try |

| Proton Pass | Score pending | Email aliases, password manager | $35.88 first year (Pass Plus), $59.88 for 6 people | Free plan, 10 aliases | TryAffiliate link · how it works → |

| Aura | 7.0/10 | Removal, insurance, VPN, password manager | $144 first year | 14-day trial | Try |
Prices verified on 10/09/2026 for Proton Pass, Firefox Relay and DuckDuckGo, and on 10/08/2026 for Cloaked, Optery, Incogni and Aura, on each vendor’s site. Proton’s $35.88 is a first-year promotional price shown against a $4.99-a-month list price.
Proton Pass: the closest match for aliases and passwords
Proton Pass, from Proton AG in Switzerland, covers two of Cloaked’s pieces: hide-my-email aliases and a password manager. The free plan asked for no card on 10/09/2026 and includes unlimited logins on unlimited devices, passkeys and 10 aliases. Replies to a forwarded message go out from the alias on any plan, so the sender never sees your address.
Pass Plus was $2.99 a month, “Billed at $35.88 every 12 months,” against a struck-through $4.99 list price. It removes the alias cap and adds a 2FA code generator, vault sharing, dark web monitoring and your own domain for aliases. Pass Family covers six people for $59.88 a year.
Where it falls short: no phone aliases, no call screening, no broker removal and no insurance. Starting a new email from an alias needs a paid plan. The pricing page shows the 12-month total but no renewal price, and this site hasn’t run Proton Pass yet, so it has no score.
DuckDuckGo Email Protection: free aliases, inside one browser
DuckDuckGo’s Email Protection is free. It gives you a personal @duck.com address plus unlimited private addresses that forward to your inbox and strips known trackers from the mail. It works with the inbox you already have.
Where it falls short: on 10/09/2026 the sign-up page refused to load without the DuckDuckGo browser or extension, so you tie your aliases to DuckDuckGo’s software. There is no phone number, no password manager and no removals. DuckDuckGo sells Personal Information Removal as a separate paid subscription that this site hasn’t checked.
Firefox Relay: five free masks, paid tiers on a waitlist
Mozilla’s Firefox Relay gives everyone five email masks for free, managed from a web dashboard. It’s the simplest way to test whether aliases cut your spam at all.
Where it falls short: the paid tiers, including the only phone mask in this comparison, showed “Join the Waitlist” and no price on 10/09/2026. Five masks run out fast if you sign up for things often. Mozilla’s terms, effective 03/24/2026, say phone masking is available only in the United States and Canada.
Optery: if you bought Cloaked for data broker removal
Optery scored 8.8/10 on this site, the highest of any data removal service I’ve run. Its Free Basic plan asked for no card on 10/08/2026, scanned brokers and showed matches with screenshots. Core costs $39 a year and covers 152 named sites, or 380 if you sign a limited power of attorney for Expanded Reach. Optery publishes the full list by plan, which Cloaked’s 354-broker list only partly does.
Where it falls short: Whitepages, Intelius and TruthFinder sit in the $249 Ultimate plan only. The Core checkout showed no total, tax or renewal price before a card. No aliases, phone numbers or insurance. More in the Optery review.
Incogni: a cheaper removal-only plan with the clearest checkout
Incogni, from Nord Security, scored 7.6/10. Standard was $95.88 a year on 10/08/2026, and its checkout printed the $95.88 renewal and a $0.00 tax line before payment, which Cloaked’s checkout didn’t show us. Its published list had 420 rows, all brokers.
Where it falls short: no free plan or trial, account deletion only through support, and six big people-search sites missing from its list. The side-by-side with Cloaked is on the Cloaked vs Incogni page.
Aura: the other bundle, with insurance and credit monitoring
Aura is the alternative that looks most like Cloaked’s bundle: broker removal, a VPN, a password manager, antivirus and $1M identity theft insurance per adult. It also monitors credit at three bureaus, which Cloaked doesn’t offer. It scored 7.0/10. Individual was $144 for the first year on 10/08/2026 with a 14-day trial.
Where it falls short: no email or phone aliases, no published broker list behind the “425+” claim, and no renewal price shown before payment. Enrollment asked for a home address before the trial started.
If you stay with Cloaked
Cloaked is the only service here that puts phone aliases, call screening and broker removal under one price. Its list covered all 16 people-search sites this site tracks. If that bundle is what you use, three things are worth doing:
- Check the dashboard for records still “in progress” after the 2 to 3 months Cloaked quotes for full removals.
- Get any refund promise in writing from a person, not from the Kit assistant.
- Skip Cloaked Pay unless you’re comfortable sharing your SSN.
Cloaked’s own pricing page and terms have the details; this site hasn’t reviewed Cloaked from an account yet. Cloaked vs DeleteMe compares the removal side.
Verdict
Start with the feature you actually use. For aliases and passwords, Proton Pass Free costs nothing and Pass Plus costs $35.88 the first year, less than a third of Cloaked. For broker removal, Optery is the strongest service this site has run, with a free scan and a $39 plan. Together they came to $74.88 for the first year on 10/09/2026.
If you want one subscription with insurance, Aura is the closest bundle, at $144 for the first year. What no alternative here matches is a masked phone number: Firefox Relay’s was on a waitlist, and the others don’t offer one. Our email alias ranking and best data removal services cover each half in more depth.

FAQ
Is there a free alternative to Cloaked?
For email aliases, yes. Proton Pass Free gives 10 hide-my-email aliases with no card, and Firefox Relay gives 5 masks. DuckDuckGo Email Protection is free with unlimited addresses inside its browser or extension. For data broker removal, Optery's Free Basic scans and shows your matches but doesn't send removals. Nothing free gives you a masked phone number the way Cloaked does.
What is the cheapest Cloaked alternative?
For aliases, Proton Pass Plus at $35.88 for the first year on 10/09/2026, against $119.99 for Cloaked Individual. For removals, Optery Core at $39 a year. If you want both, Proton Pass Plus and Optery Core together came to $74.88 for the first year, still less than Cloaked.
Does any Cloaked alternative give you a second phone number?
Not among the services I compared. Firefox Relay listed a phone mask only on a tier marked “Join the Waitlist” on 10/09/2026. Proton Pass, DuckDuckGo, Optery, Incogni and Aura mask or remove email and broker data, not phone calls. Cloaked's unlimited phone aliases and call screening are its own thing.
Is Proton Pass better than Cloaked?
They overlap on aliases and the password manager. Proton Pass is cheaper and has a real free plan. Cloaked adds broker removal, phone aliases, call screening, a VPN and $1M identity theft insurance in one $119.99 subscription. Neither has a score on this site yet, so I can't rank them against each other.
Why do people look for a Cloaked alternative?
Four themes came up in owner reviews on Trustpilot and the App Store in September and October 2026. Spam calls that didn't drop. Removals stuck at “in progress.” An AI support agent instead of a person. Billing disputes with refunds refused. Cloaked's terms call charges non-refundable, while its checkout advertised a 30-day money-back line on 10/08/2026.
