What you’re actually buying

Cloaked sells a bundle, DeleteMe sells removal. Cloaked’s pricing page lists the same features on every plan: data removal, spam call protection, unlimited phone and email aliases, identity theft insurance, a VPN and a password manager. Its insurance is underwritten by AIG affiliates, according to Cloaked, and its virtual cards ask for a Social Security number. DeleteMe sends opt-out requests to data brokers and reports on them every three months, and its other privacy tools are add-ons, such as masked phone numbers at $7 each.

Price and value

Cloaked is $9 a year cheaper on paper: $119.99 against $129 on 10/08/2026, and it sells month to month at $14.99. For two people Cloaked charges $174.99 a year against DeleteMe’s $229, and for a family of four $299.99 against $329. If you’d use the aliases and call blocking, Cloaked gives more for the money. If you only want removals, the extras don’t help.

Coverage: what each one removes

The two lists can’t be compared one to one. DeleteMe’s list gives 957 unique domains and marks 91 as included in Standard. Cloaked’s list on 10/08/2026 had 1,059 names, and Cloaked itself tagged 354 as data brokers and 705 as “Other website,” which includes retailers and other companies. Its help center says it handles “over 300 data brokers” automatically and that some brokers need extra steps from you.

Cloaked’s own comparison on its pricing page describes DeleteMe as “~100 automated (900+ advertised).” Screenshot taken on 10/08/2026

Cloaked’s comparison table describes DeleteMe as “~100 automated (900+ advertised).” That’s close to what DeleteMe’s own legend shows: 91 domains marked for Standard. Both services say PeopleConnect’s sites, Intelius, TruthFinder and Instant Checkmate, need you to opt out yourself.

DeleteMe adds 40 custom requests a year for sites outside its list. I found no custom request feature in Cloaked’s help center or pricing on 10/08/2026.

Removal timeline

Cloaked’s help center says takedowns “usually begin within about 14 business days after enrollment,” with an average removal time of 2–3 weeks and up to 2–3 months for all brokers. DeleteMe says the first privacy report arrives about seven business days after sign-up, with scans four times a year. Neither claim is our measurement.

Refunds, cancellation and data

DeleteMe’s refund rule is the same in its terms, checkout and help center: full before the first report, prorated after. Cloaked’s checkout showed “Hassle free 30 day money back guarantee,” but its terms, effective 10/20/2025, say charges “are final and non-refundable, unless otherwise determined by Cloaked.” Cloaked’s terms also send disputes to binding arbitration.

Both ask for similar details for removal: name, current and past addresses, date of birth, emails and phone numbers. Cloaked’s privacy policy says it never sells personal information and keeps it only while you have an account. Account deletion at Cloaked starts a 30-day grace period, with an option to delete permanently right away. DeleteMe’s help center describes a “Delete my account” button.

What people say

Cloaked’s app ratings are high: 4.6 on the App Store from 22,414 ratings and 4.6 on Google Play on 10/08/2026. Its Trustpilot page showed 3.7 from 750 reviews, with 23% one star. Five complaint themes passed our threshold of three independent mentions on two platforms (Trustpilot and the App Store): spam calls not dropping, removals stuck “in process,” canceling through an AI assistant, billing and refund disputes, and call blocking that stopped legitimate calls. One App Store reviewer wrote on 09/11/2026 that everything “stays stuck in in the ‘process of removing’ and nothing actually gets removed.” I didn’t verify each case.

For DeleteMe, the threshold themes were sites outside its list being left to the user, confusion with the separate company at deleteme.com, and doubts about paid endorsements. Details are in the DeleteMe review.

Who should pick Cloaked

  • You want email and phone aliases and spam call blocking on the same bill as data removal.
  • You’d like to pay month to month.
  • You’re fine with a removal list that mixes data brokers and other companies.

Who should pick DeleteMe

  • Data broker removal is the main job, and you want to see a domain list first.
  • You want custom requests and a refund rule that’s the same everywhere.
  • You’d rather talk to a person on the phone than an AI assistant.

Verdict

For removal alone, DeleteMe is the clearer choice: a domain list with plan marks, 40 custom requests, a consistent refund rule and an A+ BBB rating against Cloaked’s B. Cloaked is the better value if you’ll use its aliases and call blocking, but its checkout and terms disagree on refunds, so read them before you pay.
