Opt-out forms and policies change; we checked this one on 10/09/2026.

Quick answer: Yes, you can opt out of ThatsThem for free, without an account. It is one form at thatsthem.com/optout with seven required fields, including a phone number, behind a Cloudflare human check. ThatsThem's own page says requests are processed within 72 hours (copy archived 07/11/2026). ThatsThem belongs to Spokeo, but Spokeo's opt-out doesn't cover it.

What ThatsThem shows about you (and where it gets it)

ThatsThem is a free people-search site with four lookups: name, address, phone, and email. Its home page advertised “Up to 50 Data Points Per Person” and “Approx. 2.2 Billion Names Available” on 10/09/2026. Its Our Data page counts 1.7 billion emails, 1 billion phones, 800 million addresses, 95 million relatives, and 50 million work histories (copy archived 08/21/2026).

ThatsThem's own data page says its core data is refreshed every week from more than 50 sources. Wayback Machine copy of thatsthem.com/about/data archived on 08/21/2026. Screenshot taken on 10/09/2026

The site belongs to Spokeo, Inc. of Pasadena, California. Spokeo’s 2026 entry in the California Data Broker Registry lists Thatsthem.com as one of its names, next to Spokeo.com, Anywho.com, Peoplewin.com, Freepeopledirectory.com, and Family.me (registry read 10/09/2026). ThatsThem has no policies of its own: the footer’s “Terms of Service” and “Privacy Policy” links open spokeo.com (checked 10/09/2026).

Step 1: Find your listing on thatsthem.com

Search your full name with your city and state, or use the address, phone, or email lookup. Open the record that matches you and write down the details it shows. The opt-out form has no field for the listing URL, so the name, address, email, and phone you enter are what ThatsThem matches against.

I couldn’t test the form end to end: a site:thatsthem.com search on DuckDuckGo and Google found no ThatsThem listing for my test identity on 10/09/2026, and the site’s own name search sat behind the Cloudflare check described in Step 2.

Step 2: Open the opt-out page

The opt-out page is thatsthem.com/optout. It is linked from the footer as “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” and from the Contact page as “Go to Opt-Out” (copy archived 06/30/2026). Spokeo’s privacy policy, section 1(g), points to the same address.

The footer link “Do Not Sell My Personal Information” opens thatsthem.com/optout. “Terms of Service” and “Privacy Policy” lead to spokeo.com. Screenshot taken on 10/09/2026

On 10/09/2026 the page opened with a Cloudflare “Confirm you’re human” check before any content. My browser session didn’t pass it, and I didn’t try to work around it. After that first check, the name search page and the Our Data page showed the same screen. Expect it in a normal browser too, and check the box once.

On 10/09/2026 the opt-out page opened with a Cloudflare “Confirm you're human” check first. The same check appeared on the name search page. Screenshot taken on 10/09/2026

Everything below about the page itself comes from the Wayback Machine copy of thatsthem.com/optout archived on 07/11/2026. The page says: “Requests are typically processed within 72 hours. You’ll receive a confirmation email once complete.” Its “Important Note” adds that opting out “removes your data from That’sThem’s public search results. This does not affect data held by other services or public records.”

Step 3: Fill out the form and pass the check

There is one form, “Submit opt-out request,” and no account. In the archived copy every field carries a red asterisk, and the page code marks each one as required for a regular visitor.

What ThatsThem asks for

  • Required: full name, street address, city, state (a dropdown of the 50 states and DC), ZIP code, email, and phone.
  • Not asked: SSN, an ID photo, a date of birth, or the listing URL.
  • Check: a Cloudflare Turnstile widget sits above the “Submit Opt-Out Request” button (page code, copy of 07/11/2026).
  • After submit: the page shows “Request Submitted” and says a confirmation email arrives within 72 hours.

Enter the details as they appear on your listing. Because all seven fields are required, you can’t leave the phone or address blank the way you can on FastPeopleSearch. DeleteMe’s guide (updated 09/14/2026) suggests a masked email and phone number if ThatsThem doesn’t have yours. I didn’t test that. Incogni’s guide (updated 09/06/2022) says each record needs its own form. I couldn’t confirm the live form on 10/09/2026, so if a field has changed, follow what the page shows.

Step 4: Wait 72 hours and check again

ThatsThem’s own number is 72 hours. Third-party guides give longer windows: DeleteMe says “5-7 days” (09/14/2026), Incogni says “5 – 7 working days” (2022), and Clearnym cites “a five-to-ten-business-day processing window” (06/26/2026). Spokeo’s privacy policy, revised 06/25/2026, says the ThatsThem tool “removes Public Information in real time following completion of the request submission,” and reports 5,641,889 requests in 2025, all complied with and none denied.

To check, search your name on thatsthem.com in a private browser window, then search Google for site:thatsthem.com with your name in quotes. Both should come back empty. If the listing is still there after a week, submit the form again with the exact details from the listing.

Why your profile can come back

ThatsThem’s Our Data page says it pushes “weekly updates” and pulls “from over 50 different sources” (copy archived 08/21/2026). Its opt-out page says a removal “does not affect data held by other services or public records.” When a source sends a new record that doesn’t match the details in your request, a new listing can appear.

Spokeo’s policy, section 1(f), also reserves the right “to transfer Public Information (including Public Information that you have requested be removed) to any successor-in-interest,” and “to deny or reverse a request for the removal of public listings” that it believes doesn’t comply with its terms (revised 06/25/2026). Those clauses are written for Spokeo’s own tool, and the policy covers ThatsThem too.

What owners report

I couldn’t find owner reports from the last 24 months on Reddit, and ThatsThem had no BBB or Trustpilot profile that I could open on 10/09/2026. What exists is secondhand, and I didn’t verify it:

  • Promise, then silence. Redact’s broker profile (updated 05/22/2026) summarizes BBB reviews as “removal requests answered with a 5-10 day promise, then ignored.” It also reports an F rating with 11 complaints in three years, which I couldn’t find on bbb.org on 10/09/2026.
  • Back after a month or two. The same profile says reviews describe “profiles back on the site a month or two after a removal went through.”
  • Delays of months. Clearnym’s guide (updated 06/26/2026) says BBB and Reddit complaints “describe longer delays, including a reported delay lasting months,” and that listings “remained visible beyond the stated five-to-ten-business-day window.”

Against that, Spokeo’s own count for 2025 is zero denied ThatsThem requests out of 5.6 million. Both can be true: a request can be accepted and the listing can still come back with the next weekly update.

Opt-out rights vary by state. California residents can also send one free deletion request to registered data brokers through the state’s DROP platform. Since 08/01/2026, brokers must check it at least every 45 days, and Spokeo, Inc. is a registered broker.

Opting out of Spokeo and the sister sites

One request doesn’t cover the family. Spokeo’s privacy policy, section 1(f), says its “Remove A Public Listing” tool works for “Spokeo.com and other Spokeo-operated websites excluding Thatsthem.com.” Its 2026 California registration says the same: an opt-out on spokeo.com covers “all public Spokeo websites except Thatsthem.com.” So you file twice: once at thatsthem.com/optout and once through the Spokeo opt-out, which also handles Anywho, Peoplewin, and Freepeopledirectory.

Spokeo's privacy policy, section 1(g): removals from Thatsthem.com go through the separate Thatsthem.com Optout tool. Wayback Machine copy of spokeo.com/privacy-policy archived on 09/10/2026. Screenshot taken on 10/09/2026

When a removal service is cheaper than your time

One ThatsThem opt-out is a short form, if the Cloudflare check lets you through. The work is repeating it on the Spokeo sites and the rest of the people-search sites every few months, and ThatsThem alone refreshes weekly. On 10/09/2026 ThatsThem was on Optery’s published list for Core, its cheapest plan at $39.00 a year, and Optery’s own broker page marks it “Covered by Core.” Our Data Removal Coverage Index counts every service’s list.

Optery's published list for the Core plan includes ThatsThem, next to TruthRecord and USPhoneLookup. Screenshot taken on 10/09/2026

Optery’s free account runs a scan without a card and shows where your name appears, with removal left to you (own account, 10/08/2026). Core adds automated removals for $39.00 a year. The Optery review covers the scan, the plans, and the checkout.

What we checked

  • ThatsThem opt-out: opened thatsthem.com/optout from the footer on 10/09/2026. The page showed a Cloudflare “Confirm you're human” check that my browser session didn't pass, so the form was not submitted. Not captured: Cloudflare Turnstile, 10/09/2026. Fields, required marks, the Turnstile widget and the confirmation text come from the page code of the Wayback Machine copy archived 07/11/2026
  • Listing for the test identity: a site:thatsthem.com search on DuckDuckGo and Google found nothing on 10/09/2026; the site's own name search sat behind the same Cloudflare check. No confirmation email, no re-check
  • Vendor documents: ThatsThem's Our Data and Contact pages (Wayback Machine copies of 08/21/2026 and 06/30/2026); Spokeo's privacy policy revised 06/25/2026 (Wayback Machine copy of 09/10/2026, live page 403 on our connection); California Data Broker Registry 2026 — all read 10/09/2026
  • Owners: Reddit searched through DuckDuckGo and Bing on 10/09/2026 — no threads from the last 24 months; BBB search for “thatsthem” returned no profile; Trustpilot didn't load on our connection. Closed with two third-party summaries (Redact 05/22/2026, Clearnym 06/26/2026), marked as such
  • Removal services: Optery's published Core list captured 10/09/2026; OneRep, Incogni and DeleteMe lists captured 10/08/2026
  • Screenshots: four from the live sites on 10/09/2026, four of Wayback Machine copies (archive dates in the captions); the Wayback toolbar was removed before capture
  • Where the run stopped: thatsthem.com/optout — Cloudflare Turnstile check; the form itself is documented from the Wayback Machine copy of 07/11/2026

FAQ

Is the ThatsThem opt-out free?

Yes. The opt-out at thatsthem.com/optout asks for no payment and no account. The form has seven required fields: full name, street address, city, state, ZIP code, email, and phone (Wayback Machine copy of 07/11/2026). On 10/09/2026 the live page opened with a Cloudflare human check first.

How long does ThatsThem take to remove a listing?

ThatsThem's own opt-out page says requests are typically processed within 72 hours, with a confirmation email once complete (copy archived 07/11/2026). Third-party guides quote 5 to 7 days or 5 to 10 business days. Spokeo's privacy policy says the ThatsThem tool removes listings in real time after submission.

Why is my information back on ThatsThem?

ThatsThem says its core data is refreshed every week from more than 50 sources, and its opt-out page says a removal doesn't affect data held by other services or public records. A new record that doesn't match your old request can produce a new listing. Check again every few months.

Do I have to give ThatsThem my phone number?

On the form as archived on 07/11/2026, phone was marked required, like the other six fields, and the page code rejects an empty phone field. I couldn't confirm that on the live form on 10/09/2026 because of the Cloudflare check. ThatsThem asks for no SSN and no ID photo.

Does the Spokeo opt-out cover ThatsThem?

No. ThatsThem is a Spokeo, Inc. site, but Spokeo's privacy policy (revised 06/25/2026) and its 2026 California registration both say the Spokeo opt-out tool covers every Spokeo site except Thatsthem.com. You need a separate request at thatsthem.com/optout.

Does a removal service cover ThatsThem?

Yes. On 10/09/2026 ThatsThem was on Optery's published list for its cheapest plan, Core ($39.00/year), and on 10/08/2026 it was on the lists of OneRep (all plans), Incogni (all plans), and DeleteMe (Standard plan). Our coverage index compares the lists.
