Quick answer: Optery is paid from $39/year (Core), and it also has a free plan. Extended costs $149/year and Ultimate $249/year, plus sales tax — varies by state. The terms say plans renew at the then-current non-promotional rate, and no renewal figure showed before payment. Prices verified on 10/08/2026 on Optery's site.

The site counts in the table are mine, from Optery’s published list on 10/08/2026. Optery’s own figures differ by page: 380+, 555+, and 630+ on the pricing page, and 380+, 559+, and 636+ inside the account.
Which plan is right for you
- You want Spokeo, MyLife, and Acxiom handled on a budget: Core at $39/year. It covers one name and one city and state.
- You’ve moved a lot or go by more than one name: Extended at $149/year. It adds unlimited name and city variations, BeenVerified, and PeopleLooker.
- You need Whitepages, Intelius, or TruthFinder removed: Ultimate at $249/year. Those sites are listed only there, along with custom removals.
Optery family plan
Optery for Family covers any number of people, and each person keeps their own account. The discount is 20% with two paid members, 25% with three, and 30% with four or more, per Optery’s help center (10/08/2026). Family plans can’t take a promo code on top.
What you pay when the free plan ends
Free Basic doesn’t end, so nothing converts or bills on its own. You pay only when you pick a paid plan and add a card. The cheapest step up is Core at $39/year. The free plan’s limits and the discounts Optery lists are on the Optery free plan page.
What you’ll actually pay at checkout
On 10/08/2026 I opened the Core yearly checkout from inside my account and stopped before paying. The window showed the plan, “Yearly,” and “Save 17%, for ~ 2 free months,” but no price, tax, or total. The payment panel read “Awaiting payment method for calculating tax.”
The $39.00 price appeared only on the plan card behind the window. The checkout didn’t show a renewal price or any auto-renew text. Payment options were card and Link, in USD. A promo code field was there, but checking a code without a card returned “Payment Declined.”
What’s in the plan (and what isn’t)
Each paid plan includes everything below it. Here’s what changes as you go up, per the pricing page on 10/08/2026:
| Plan | What it adds | What it still doesn’t include |
|---|---|---|
| Core | Automated monthly scans and removals, progress reports | Name variations, human agent, Whitepages, Intelius |
| Extended | Unlimited names and cities, a human privacy agent, before-and-after reports about every 90 days, home blurring on Google and Apple Maps | Whitepages, Intelius, custom removals |
| Ultimate | 77 more named sites, custom removals after day 30, search engine outdated-content requests, priority email support | Removals from social media, news, or forums |
Expanded Reach is a free add-on for all paid plans, and it supplies 228 of the sites in each “with” figure above. Optery turns it on only after you sign a limited power of attorney.
How to cancel Optery
Optery’s help center gives these steps (10/08/2026):
- Log in to your Optery account.
- Click “Account” in the left menu.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the red “Cancel Plan” button.
I didn’t reach the cancellation screen because a free account has no plan to cancel. Plans & Billing in my account showed only “Upgrade” and no payment method.
After you cancel, the plan stays active until the end of the term and then drops to Free Basic, with no prorated refund for the unused part.
If the “Cancel Plan” button isn’t there, the help center says to use chat or email support@optery.com. Canceling doesn’t delete your data. Account deletion is a separate button in the same page.
Refund policy
30 days on the first purchase. The help center calls it a “no questions asked” money-back guarantee (10/08/2026). It applies to individual accounts, not business ones, and only once per customer.
To get it, cancel the plan, then email support@optery.com with your account email. The help center says the refund is processed within 5 to 10 business days, and the plan drops to Free Basic right away. I didn’t request a refund, so I can’t confirm the timing.
Other details for U.S. subscribers
What personal data they ask for — and how to delete it
Sign-up asks for your name, country, email, password, state, city, and year of birth, with no SSN or card. To delete your account and data, type DELETE in the dialog under “Account.” The privacy policy says data is deleted right away and backups within 7 days (05/17/2026).
Who can sign up (U.S. only, state limits, age)
Personal plans are open in the U.S., Canada outside Quebec, Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa, per the help center (10/08/2026). I found no state limits. Minimum age 18 per the terms of service.
Support: channels and hours (ET)
Chat inside the account and email. The chat widget said support is available 24/7. My billing question on 10/08/2026 at 12:28 p.m. ET got a full answer from a person in about 20 minutes.
What we saw inside the account
The plans page inside the account matched the public prices to the dollar. It listed slightly higher site counts than the public page, such as 559+ for Extended instead of 555+.
Is Optery worth paying for?
Pay for Optery if the free scan shows you on sites your plan actually covers. Core costs $39/year, but it lists 152 named sites without Expanded Reach and none of Whitepages, Intelius, or TruthFinder. If those are where you appear, the real price is Ultimate at $249/year. Either way, you have 30 days to ask for your money back.
The full Optery review covers the scan and support in detail, and the best data removal services page compares prices across services.
