Best DeleteMe Alternatives in 2026: 5 Services I Compared
Reviewed · Updated
Quick answer: People look for a DeleteMe alternative because it has no free plan, costs $129 a year and doesn’t show its renewal price. On 10/08/2026, Optery scored highest of the alternatives we checked and had a free plan with no time limit, OneRep covered the most big people-search sites in our test, and Incogni was cheaper at $95.88 a year.
Why people look for a DeleteMe alternative
- No free plan or trial. DeleteMe requires a card to start, and its free scan checks about 30 sites once (10/08/2026).
- Price. $129 a year for one person, with no monthly plan.
- Renewal not shown. The checkout terms say the plan renews “at either the current or full retail rate,” with no amount.
- The plan covers less than the headline. The list says 969 brokers, and the legend marks 91 domains as included in Standard.
- Some sites are left to you. DeleteMe’s help center says Intelius, TruthFinder and Instant Checkmate don’t accept its requests.
In 9 threads about DeleteMe alternatives from 10/2024 to 10/2026, these reasons passed our threshold of three independent mentions on two platforms. I didn’t verify each case.
- Price: 4 mentions say DeleteMe isn’t worth what it costs, and 11 name EasyOptOuts, a much cheaper service, as the value pick.
- Doing it yourself: 7 mentions say the opt-outs are manageable by hand. “All DeleteMe does is save you the time of manually making takedown requests” (Hacker News, 03/06/2026).
- Scope: 4 mentions point out that DeleteMe targets people-search sites, not marketing, financial or health data brokers.
- California’s DROP: 3 mentions suggest the state’s free deletion tool.
- Ads: 5 mentions say people found DeleteMe through sponsored ads and distrust it for that.
Consumer Reports’ 2023 test, the only independent one with DeleteMe, found it had removed 27% of volunteers’ profiles after four months, against 70% for manual opt-outs and 68% for Optery’s Ultimate plan (“Data Defense,” 08/08/2024).

Optery: the highest score, and a free plan
Optery has the highest score of the five on our scale (8.8/10), and it is the one to try without paying. Its Free Basic plan has no time limit and asked for no card on 10/08/2026. It scans brokers, shows where your profiles appear with screenshots, and gives you links to opt out yourself. Paid plans start at $39 a year for Core and go up to $249 for Ultimate.
Where it falls short: Core covers only 4 of our 16 control sites. Whitepages, FastPeopleSearch and TruePeopleSearch need Ultimate at $249 a year. The Core checkout showed no total, tax or renewal amount before a card. The full comparison is on DeleteMe vs Optery.
OneRep: the most people-search sites for the price
OneRep covered the most of our control sites. Its list on 10/08/2026 had 873 domains: 314 people-search sites on every plan and 559 non-public brokers on Pro. 15 of our 16 control sites were among the 314, including Intelius, TruthFinder and Instant Checkmate. The Individual plan cost $99.95 a year, and the checkout printed the charge date and the renewal at $99.95 a year after a 5-day trial. A free account showed scan matches with email only. It rescans monthly, and its live chat answered our question in under 2 minutes.
Where it falls short: the 5-day trial needs a card, there’s no delete button in the account (our email request was answered with deletion within 72 hours), and the 559 non-public brokers and custom requests are only on Pro, at $191.40 a year.
Incogni: cheaper, with the renewal price shown
Incogni was the cheapest of the full-list services: $95.88 a year at checkout on 10/08/2026, or $15.98 month to month. Its checkout printed the renewal at $95.88 and added no sales tax for New York. Its list had 417 unique domains, and Incogni says every plan covers all of them. It covered 10 of our 16 control sites, the same count as DeleteMe’s Standard plan but a different mix: Nuwber and Acxiom instead of BeenVerified and ClustrMaps.
Where it falls short: no free plan or trial, custom removals only on Unlimited ($179.88 a year), and account deletion only through support. The full comparison is on DeleteMe vs Incogni.
Aura: data removal inside an identity protection bundle
Aura fits if you want more than data removal. Its Individual plan was $144 a year on 10/08/2026, with a 14-day free trial, and it bundles three-bureau credit monitoring, $1M identity theft insurance, antivirus, a VPN and a password manager with data removal from “425+ Data Brokers.” Annual plans have a 60-day refund window, requested by phone.
Where it falls short: Aura doesn’t publish its broker list, so you can’t check which sites it covers. Its enrollment didn’t show the renewal price, and our email to support had no reply on 10/08/2026. This is not legal or financial advice. The full comparison is on DeleteMe vs Aura.
Cloaked: removal plus masked emails and phone numbers
Cloaked fits if you want aliases and call blocking with your removals. Its Individual plan was $119.99 a year or $14.99 a month on 10/08/2026, and every plan includes data removal, unlimited email and phone aliases, spam call protection, identity theft insurance, a VPN and a password manager. Its list had 1,059 names, and all 16 of our control people-search sites were named on it.
Where it falls short: Cloaked tags only 354 of those names as data brokers, and its help center says it handles “over 300” automatically, with PeopleConnect, Radaris and BeenVerified needing your own steps. Its checkout promised a “30 day money back guarantee,” while its terms call charges “final and non-refundable, unless otherwise determined by Cloaked.” Its BBB rating was B on 10/08/2026. The full comparison is on Cloaked vs DeleteMe.
If you stay with DeleteMe
DeleteMe still has strengths the others don’t match on their basic plans: 40 custom requests a year on Standard, phone support on every plan, and a published list with a legend for each plan. If you stay, use a 20% first-year code (JOINNOW or SCAN20 worked on 10/08/2026), note your renewal date, and opt out of Intelius, TruthFinder and Instant Checkmate yourself through PeopleConnect, since DeleteMe says it can’t. The details are in the DeleteMe review.
Verdict
Optery is the DeleteMe alternative to try first: it has the highest score of the five, its free plan shows where you appear before you pay, and Core costs $39 a year. The catch is coverage: Whitepages, FastPeopleSearch and TruePeopleSearch sit only in its $249 Ultimate plan. If those sites list you, OneRep covered 15 of our 16 control sites, costs less than DeleteMe and shows the renewal price before you pay. Incogni is the cheaper choice with an honest checkout, and Aura is for people who want identity protection in the same bill.
