How to Remove Yourself From PeopleLooker in 2026
Reviewed · Updated
Opt-out forms and policies change; we checked this one on 10/09/2026.
Quick answer: You can opt out of PeopleLooker for free, without an account or phone number. It uses the same form as BeenVerified, its sister site, but each site needs its own request. PeopleLooker says removal takes about 24 hours in most cases (checked 10/09/2026).
- You need a name, a state and an email address. No phone, date of birth or ID.
- Opting out of BeenVerified doesn't cover PeopleLooker, and the online form removes one record at a time.
- A removal service makes sense when PeopleLooker is one of dozens of sites to clear.
What PeopleLooker shows about you (and where it gets it)
PeopleLooker is run by The Lifetime Value Co. through PeopleLooker LLC, the same company behind BeenVerified. Its 2025 privacy request report lists nine brands, PeopleLooker and BeenVerified among them.
The shared owner shows in the data. On 10/09/2026, the same test search returned the same two records, with the same details, on both sites. PeopleLooker’s opt-out FAQ says its people-search results come from “several different public and private databases.”
Step 1: Open the opt-out search
Go to peoplelooker.com/svc/optout/search/optouts. The homepage footer links only to “Privacy,” and the opt-out link sits on the privacy policy page. A Cloudflare check comes first, then the search: first name, last name and state.
Step 2: Pick your record
Results show a name, age, city, birth month and year, aliases, relatives and past locations. Click “Proceed to Opt Out” on yours.
I couldn’t test removal end to end: PeopleLooker had no listing for our test identity on 10/09/2026. It showed “No exact match” and two other people.
Step 3: Confirm by email
Next comes an email field, an hCaptcha check and “Send Verification Email.” PeopleLooker says it uses the address only to verify the request. You click the link in that email, and a second email confirms the opt-out. I entered nothing here, since the record wasn’t ours.
Step 4: Wait about 24 hours and check again
PeopleLooker says the record drops the next time its servers refresh, “in most cases” 24 hours after the confirmation email. Search your name again in the opt-out search to check, in a private window. Its parent company reported an average of 9 days for California opt-out requests in 2025, across all its brands.
What came back: why your profile can reappear
PeopleLooker’s FAQ says a data partner can send a new record it can’t match to the one you removed, and that record can appear. Owners on BBB describe exactly that (below).
No opt-out removes your data permanently. PeopleLooker can list you again from new records, so search for yourself again every few months.
Opting out of BeenVerified and other records
- BeenVerified needs its own request. Both sites say they can only remove records from their own site. See the BeenVerified opt-out.
- One record per request. The online form removes one record. For more, email privacy@peoplelooker.com.
- Property records. PeopleLooker has a separate opt-out that starts from an address.
Opt-out rights vary by state. California residents can also use the CCPA “Delete my personal information” request (CCPA, California Attorney General). PeopleLooker’s policy (updated 10/10/2025) says it aims to answer verified requests within 45 days, up to 90.
What owners report
Reddit blocked our connection, so I read BBB. PeopleLooker isn’t BBB-accredited and has 75 complaints in 3 years (10/09/2026). Of the 20 latest (07/17/2025 to 08/19/2026), seven were about personal data or removal.
- Two said listings came back after earlier removals (07/22/2025 and 10/01/2025).
- Two found their names in PeopleLooker ads on other people-search sites, one after an earlier removal (11/25/2025 and 05/19/2026).
- One wrote on 02/19/2026 that the tool “restricts users to a single removal per email.”
PeopleLooker answered each with a confirmation that it had processed the opt-out. So if listings keep coming back, a BBB complaint or an email to privacy@peoplelooker.com has worked for others.
When a removal service is cheaper than your time
PeopleLooker and BeenVerified together take two requests, plus more for property records and duplicates. OneRep’s published list has 314 people-search sites (10/08/2026).
If you’d rather hand it off, I’d look at Optery. Its Extended plan lists both PeopleLooker and BeenVerified, so one plan covers the pair. Extended was $149/year or $14.99/month on 10/08/2026, and the free Basic account scans first, without a card. Its Core checkout didn’t show a total or renewal price before asking for a card. More in the Optery review.

What we checked
- Opt-out form at peoplelooker.com: searched our test identity on 10/09/2026 at 8:16 a.m. ET. No exact match; same two records as on BeenVerified. I opened the email step for another person's record without entering anything. No request sent
- Cloudflare check on the form: passed by hand on our test browser, not automated
- PeopleLooker pages: opt-out FAQ and Property Search form (10/09/2026), privacy policy (updated 10/10/2025); parent company's 2025 request metrics (10/08/2026)
- Owners: 20 most recent BBB complaints about PeopleLooker (07/17/2025–08/19/2026). The third page and Reddit blocked our connection
- Removal services: published lists of OneRep, Optery, DeleteMe and Incogni (10/08/2026); Optery's list re-checked 10/09/2026
- Where the run stopped: verification email step on 10/09/2026: PeopleLooker had no listing for our test identity, so no request was sent and no confirmation email came
FAQ
Is PeopleLooker opt-out free?
Yes. PeopleLooker's opt-out FAQ says you never have to pay to remove your own record and you don't need to be a member (checked 10/09/2026). You need an email address for the verification link.
How long does PeopleLooker take to remove a listing?
PeopleLooker says the change shows up the next time its servers refresh, which “in most cases” takes 24 hours after its confirmation email. Its parent company reported an average of 9 days for California opt-out requests in 2025, across all its brands.
Why is my information back on PeopleLooker?
PeopleLooker's FAQ says a data partner can send a new record it can't match to the one you removed. Owners on BBB describe the same: listings coming back after removal, and their names in ads on other people-search sites. Email privacy@peoplelooker.com if it happens.
Do I have to give PeopleLooker my phone number?
No. On 10/09/2026 the form asked for a first name, last name and state, then only an email address and an hCaptcha check. No phone number, date of birth or ID.
Is PeopleLooker the same as BeenVerified?
Same company, The Lifetime Value Co., and on 10/09/2026 both returned the same records for our test search. The opt-outs are separate: each site says it can only remove records from its own site, so send one request on each.
Does a removal service cover PeopleLooker?
Yes, several. On their published lists (10/08/2026), Incogni and OneRep cover PeopleLooker on every plan, DeleteMe on Standard, and Optery from Extended.
