Quick answer: Aura's credit monitoring comes in every adult plan, at all three bureaus. On 10/08/2026, Individual cost $12 a month billed annually, which enrollment showed as $144 for the first year, or $15 month to month. Couple was $22 or $29, and Family $32 or $50. Aura doesn't publish the renewal price.
Plans and pricing
The prices below are from Aura’s pricing page on 10/08/2026. Aura shows each plan as a monthly price billed annually. The yearly totals for Couple and Family are that price times 12, and only Individual’s $144 appeared on the enrollment screen.
| Plan | Per month, billed annually (USD) | Per year (USD) | What's included | Try |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Individual1 adult, 10 devices; $1M identity theft insurance; $144 billed yearly seen at enrollment | $12 | $144 | 1 adult, 10 devices; $1M identity theft insurance; $144 billed yearly seen at enrollment | See Individual |
| Couple2 adults, 20 devices; $2M insurance; yearly total = $22 × 12, not seen at checkout | $22 | $264 | 2 adults, 20 devices; $2M insurance; yearly total = $22 × 12, not seen at checkout | See Couple |
| Family5 adults, unlimited kids; $5M insurance; yearly total = $32 × 12, not seen at checkout | $32 | $384 | 5 adults, unlimited kids; $5M insurance; yearly total = $32 × 12, not seen at checkout | See Family |

- Paying month to month instead of yearly costs more: $180 a year at the monthly rate vs $144 billed annually.
- Renewal price: not shown before payment on Aura's checkout as of the last check — see the review.
Paying month to month instead of yearly: Individual $15/month, Couple $29/month, Family $50/month, Kids $13/month.
- First year: Individual $144, Couple $264, Family $384, billed annually.
- Renewal: not shown on the pricing page or the enrollment screen. Aura’s terms say the plan renews at the price in your account dashboard.
- Sales tax: plus sales tax — varies by state. Not shown before the address step, where I stopped.
- Auto-renew: on by default, with an email before renewal, per the terms. Cancel online under Membership.
Prices verified on 10/08/2026 on Aura’s site.
The “Save 50%” label on Individual has no footnote. At enrollment it showed as “$288.00” crossed out next to $144.00. A year of the $15 monthly plan comes to $180, so the crossed-out price is higher than anything on the pricing page.
Aura credit monitoring: what each plan includes
Every adult plan includes the same credit features, per the pricing page (10/08/2026):
- 3-bureau credit monitoring: alerts on changes at Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion.
- Instant credit lock: an Experian credit lock, per Aura’s help center.
- Credit score: calculated from your Equifax file, “for educational purposes,” and not the score lenders use.
- Related alerts: financial transaction alerts and home and auto title monitoring.
The plans differ in people, devices, and insurance, not in credit features:
| Plan | People | Devices | Identity theft insurance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual | 1 adult | 10 | $1M |
| Couple | 2 adults | 20 | $2M |
| Family | 5 adults, unlimited kids | unlimited | $5M |
| Kids | kids only | unlimited | none listed |
Child members on the Family plan get only online account and SSN monitoring, per the pricing footnote. None of these features were tested in an account. This is not legal or financial advice.
Which plan is right for you
- You live alone: Individual at $144 for the first year. It has the same credit monitoring as the bigger plans.
- You and a partner: Couple at $22 a month billed annually, or $264 a year, instead of two Individual plans at $288.
- A household with kids or other adults: Family at $32 a month billed annually, the only plan with spam call protection included.
- Parental controls only: Kids at $10 a month billed annually, with no identity theft features.
There’s no free plan — here’s the cheapest way in
The cheapest way in is the 14-day free trial, available on every plan. Enrollment showed “Pay $0 now,” and the terms say a card “may be required.” If you keep the annual plan, the 60-day refund window counts from the trial start date. The full review covers the trial: Aura review.
What you’ll actually pay at checkout
On 10/08/2026 I started the Individual yearly enrollment and stopped at the address step. The order summary showed “$288.00 $144.00 billed yearly,” “Save $144.00,” and “Pay $0 now. Enjoy your 14-day FREE trial.” There was no sales tax line and no renewal price.
The terms add two billing rules. Aura can change its fees with 30 days’ notice. It can also switch a yearly plan to monthly billing at renewal, with 10 days’ notice, if a year of monthly payments equals the yearly price.
How to cancel Aura
Aura’s help center gives these steps for plans bought on aura.com (10/08/2026):
- Sign in to your Aura account.
- Click the gear icon in the top right and go to Membership.
- Click “Cancel Membership.”
- Select “Cancel Online.”
- Follow the prompts, confirm, and choose a reason.
The plan stays active until the end of the period you paid for. If you subscribed through the App Store or Google Play, cancel there instead. I didn’t reach the cancellation screen because no account was opened.
Refund policy
60 days on annual plans bought on aura.com or by phone, requested by calling 1-833-552-2123, per Aura’s refund policy and help center (10/08/2026). Monthly plans, renewals, Amazon purchases, and app store purchases aren’t refunded under it. I didn’t request a refund, so I can’t confirm the timing.
Other details for U.S. subscribers
What personal data they ask for — and how to delete it
Enrollment asks for an email, a password, your name, and your home address before payment. To delete your data, Aura’s privacy policy points to its Privacy Portal, +1 (844) 914-2991, or privacy@aura.com.
Who can sign up (U.S. only, state limits, age)
Aura’s terms allow U.S. and Canadian residents 18 or older. Some insurance coverages in the $5M summary aren’t available in New York or Texas.
Support: channels and hours (ET)
Phone at 833-552-2123 and email, listed as 24/7 on Aura’s contact page. Our email of 10/08/2026 at 2:44 p.m. ET had no reply when this page was written.
What we saw inside the account
No account was opened: enrollment stopped at the home address step.
Is Aura worth paying for?
Pay for Aura if you want credit monitoring at all three bureaus plus insurance and device security on one bill, and you’ll check the renewal price in your dashboard. Individual’s $144 first year is the entry point, and Family covers five adults for $384 a year billed annually. If you mainly want to stop new credit in your name, the FTC says a credit freeze costs nothing (consumer.ftc.gov).
The full Aura review covers the insurance terms and what owners report, and the best identity theft protection page compares prices across services. This is not legal or financial advice.
